The circus is coming!

60th Annual Kora Shrine Circus comes to Augusta on April 19-20

Family-friendly event has been entertaining local audiences since 1953

AUGUSTA - The Kora Shrine Circus is coming to the Augusta Civil Center on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20. Celebrating its 60th year, the Shrine Circus has entertained both children and adults in Portland, Lewiston and Augusta since 1953.

This year's two-ring circus will bring many of the top acts back and feature some exciting new additions. Joining Ringmaster Peter Sturgis will be The Flying Pages on trapeze, Johnny Rocket, The Aerial Starletes, Ballerina on Bareback, Butterfly Beauties, Hula Hooping Madness, Just Larry, Rola Bola, and The Rolling Diamonds. The family extravaganza will feature elephants, a horse act, a double trapeze act and a motorcycle thrill show. The circus ring will also showcase the creative genius of Johnny Rocket, and Larry the clown (a.k.a. 'Just Larry') will return to entertain young and old with his crazy antics. The Kora Klowns will also be there to greet guests as they walk in and will be available for autographs and pictures.

Show times are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday and 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday. Adult tickets are $10 and children under 12 are $5. Reserved seating may be purchased for $12 per ticket at the Civic Center. Free tickets are provided to all fourth grade students.
