CAMDEN — Passes to the 2014 Camden International Film Festival are now on sale through the organization's website, www.camdenfilmfest.org/attend. The tenth annual Camden International Film Festival will take place in Camden, Rockport and Rockland from September 25 to 28.

Recently named one of the 12 film festivals for documentaries in the world, this year Camden International Film Festival (CIFF) celebrates its 10th edition, highlighting innovative work that shows a deep commitment to the craft of nonfiction storytelling, showcasing over 80 documentary features and shorts from around the globe. The weekend brings documentary films from both emerging and established filmmakers, with filmmakers in attendance at almost every screening.

CIFF's Points North Documentary Forum has quickly become the launching pad for emerging US documentary filmmakers, a place of professional development and creative inspiration for filmmakers and film-goers alike. Pass holders can attend hands-on workshops, panel discussions, the popular Points North Pitch and master classes with the top filmmakers and industry who descend upon Camden for the festival weekend. In addition to the world-class films, speakers and events, pass holders are invited to CIFF's parties, put together by Maine artists who re-imagine the most creative spaces, such as barns and warehouses, in Camden, Rockport and Rockland.

Over 8,000 tickets are dispersed each year, and pass sales have increased by over 400% since 2010. Passes guarantee entry into screenings and events prior to tickets being released for sale to the general public. Passes are limited, so with increased attendance for the tenth festival, CIFF suggests to purchase passes early before they sell out.

Films, filmmakers, high-profile industry attendees and speakers will be announced the first week of September when this year's program is unveiled.

The Camden International Film Festival offers two passes for attendees who want to experience it all. The Festival Pass grants admission to all festival screenings and all events associated with CIFF's Points North Documentary Forum. The All Access Pass (formerly called the VIP pass) grants the same admission as the Festival Pass plus all special events and invitation-only parties. Passes are available at discounted Early Bird prices of $75 for Festival Pass and $150 for VIP Pass if purchased prior to Friday, August 15. After that date, pass prices will rise to $85 and $175.

For the first time, CIFF has partnered with the on-demand streaming website Fandor, which streams independent and international films, so CIFF pass holders will receive a three-month free trial to continue the festival experience after the 3 day event in September.

"It is shaping up to be yet another strong year of films and events for CIFF, with some exciting new initiatives and high-profile speakers, including our expanded Points North Documentary Forum and Fellowship, the second year of our Aging in Maine series and a dozens of international features we'll be unveiling in the coming weeks," says Ben Fowlie, Founder and Executive Director of the Camden International Film Festival. "We're thrilled to continue to be a leading destination for emerging and established documentarians and to bring these filmmakers and their work to the Midcoast for our 10th."

"We're thrilled to bring so many filmmakers and industry to Camden and really celebrate this place and these films. With pass sales going up 52% from 2012 to 2013, we look forward to a year of even greater attendance in celebration of our tenth and hope everyone who wishes to attend is able to get a pass early," adds Managing Director Caroline von Kuhn.
