Understand Rank Choice Voting - Info Session at URock

Tue, 04/24/2018 - 5:15pm

Maine's primary elections on June 12th will use a system called ranked choice voting.

Ranked choice voting lets voters rank their choices based on individual preference. This is important because it will affect the Republican and Democratic primaries for governor. Currently there are 16 candidates in the running for governor.

On Thursday, May 3rd from noon - 1:00PM, University College at Rockland will host a representative of the Department of the Secretary of State to discuss the implementation of ranked choice voting and what voters can expect when they go to the voting booth in June.  There will be time for questions and answers.

This presentation is free and open to the public.  For further information contact University College at Rockland at 596-6906.
