Traditional Baked Bean and Casserole Supper November 7 at John Street United Methodist Church

Event has passed

The aroma of bubbling hot casseroles and home baked beans will greet diners as they arrive at the John Street United Methodist Church for the November 7 public Supper.  Generally folks arrive well before the 5:30 serving time in order to find a “good” seat.  Even before they sit down, they select a piece of homemade pie, perhaps pumpkin, cherry, apple, blueberry, lemon or chocolate; the flavors vary from month to month.

Serving is family style with everyone passing along freshly made tossed, potato, rice, cabbage and jello salads to share along with the hot items.  Popular casseroles are corn and clam, with macaroni and cheese and American chop suey as well.  In addition, hot chicken, rice and beef dishes are served, and vegetarian choices are available.  Lots of friendly chatter accompanies the all-you-can-eat meal.

Cost of the meal is $8 for adults, $5 for children under 13.

The December public supper will be on December 5 at 5:30, followed directly by the annual Christmas Concert for the community.
