Art Opening & Peak Organic Beer Tasting

Event has passed

On Friday, October 24 from 7 to 9pm in the Belfast Co-op Café, there will be a free tasting of Peak Organic beers, and the opening for Audrey Broetzman's art exhibit, "Sombras Gemelas / Twin Shadows", which will be on display in the Co-op Cafe through late November.  Alex Selby, Peak Organic's Brew Master, Jaap Helder, from the Co-op's Beer & Wine Department, and artist Audrey Broetzman will be available to answer questions.

All Peak beers will be 10% off during the tasting; participants must be 21 years of age or older to attend.  Peak Organic Brewing Company, based in Portland, Maine, is the first Non-GMO Project verified brewer in the country, and October is Non-GMO Month. There will be a special promotion of one free limited edition Belfast Co-op pint glass with every six pack purchased of Peak Organic beer during the tasting.

Artist Audrey Broetzman moved to Maine from Denver, Colorado upon graduation from high school. The shift from the mountainous desert to the woods and ocean provided not only a greater pool of inspiration to draw upon, but also a deeper sense of self. The colors, animals, and textures in these works, which embody the twin shadows, are inspired by both conscious and unconscious experiences throughout this growth and change.

All are welcome at the community-owned Belfast Co-op, open 7:30am-8pm daily, at 123 High Street in downtown Belfast; (207) 338-2532, www.belfast.coop.
