Fermentation Fundamentals with Chef Frank Giglio

Event has passed

On Thursday, September 3 from 6-8pm at the Belfast Free Library, Chef Frank Giglio will give a free presentation about bringing fermented foods into your diet. Benefits include both improved digestion and the bioavailability of nutrients in the food, strengthening the immune system and extending our short growing season.  Learn how you can use an array of fermentation techniques to preserve and nutritionally enhance everything from vegetables, to honey, to grains.  This event is sponsored by the community-owned Belfast Co-op.

Frank Giglio is a Maine-based chef who runs Three Lily Farm in Thorndike where he guides and mentors students from across the globe about traditionally based diets, fermentation, and rewilding your diet.  He was the featured chef in Dr. Alejandro Junger’s "Clean Eats" cookbook which made the New York Times best seller list in May of 2014.  Learn more at:  threelilyfarm.com
