Friday, November 21, is the Belfast Co-op's monthly 'Love LOCAL Day', celebrating Maine's bounty. Greg & Heide Purinton-Brown of Toddy Pond Farm (Monroe) will provide free samples of their dairy products between 11am and 3pm, and provide information about their farm and their animals. Greg & Heide milk sheep, cows and goats; raise pastured grass fed pork, lamb, turkey and chicken; grow cranberries, and host farm stay vacations. Toddy Pond Farm products will be discounted 10% all day.
The Love LOCAL Day lunch special highlights local ingredients: Sriracha and Toddy Pond Farm yogurt marinated grilled chicken, Ararat Farms (Lincolnville) organic spinach, roasted corn, Village Farm (Freedom) organic beets, with J and C Family Farm (Thorndike) organic butternut squash and Toddy Pond Farm yogurt dressing, and organic potato (Common Sense Farm, Unity) and organic cranberry (Pat & Mike's Garden, Ellsworth) compote with Toddy Pond Farm yogurt; $8.50.
ALL Maine products will be discounted 10% all day, and we're open until 9pm on 11/21 for our Final Friday Art Opening & Wine Tasting, so you have an extra hour to take advantage of these great savings!
