Sat 10am - Guided Store Tour at the Co-op

Event has passed

On Saturday, April 18, the Belfast Co-op is offering its monthly (3rd Sat/mo) free guided store tour, which is open to everyone.  The tour, which begins at 10am at the store entrance, will provide tips on how to take best advantage of shopping there, and highlight the benefits of becoming a shareholding Co-op member-owner.  Participants will learn about the diverse variety of merchandise available and various cost saving services such as buying in bulk, pre-ordering, and prepaid Co-op cards.  Proper use of the peanut, almond butter and coffee bean grinders will be demonstrated, and the fresh local fish and bread delivery schedules and extensive list of flavors of store-made sausage, made with all local meats, will be shared.

How to keep more of your food dollars in Maine year-round by buying "local" will also be discussed.  Over the past year, Belfast Co-op customers kept nearly $2 million dollars circulating in Maine by choosing to purchase Maine-made products. The tour will also cover their selection of beer-, wine-, and soda making supplies, and the Co-op Deli's catering services.  Attendees are encouraged to bring questions, including any special dietary needs, to help personalize the tour.

The community-owned Belfast Co-op, open 7:30am to 8pm daily, is located at 123 High Street in downtown Belfast. Everyone can shop, anyone can join.  For additional information, visit: belfast.coop or phone (207) 338-2532.
