Not Too Late for College Classes that Start Jan 12

Wed, 12/24/2014 - 1:00pm

The next semester at University College at Rockland will begin Monday, January 12. Applications are still being accepted for both continuing and first-time college students.

According to Director, Deborah Meehan, "There are still some scholarship funds for new students who have never taken a college class."  And, Meehan continued, for those with some prior college experience, "It is not too late to apply for other forms of financial aid."

University College at Rockland offers over 40 full degrees that can be started and finished locally as well as many more certificate programs from campuses of the University of Maine System.

Meehan noted, "Our semester schedule includes over 700 courses from throughout the System that can be accessed right here in Rockland. The range of offerings is terrific."

Students can take courses in the traditional face-to-face format, via interactive television, through videoconferencing, or fully online.

"When you compare the cost of our courses with that of other private, online institutions, it's a great deal," she added. "And, we have the added benefit of an energetic learning community and exceptional student support right here in Rockland."
