Persephone Books is a London based independent publisher that reprints neglected fiction and non-fiction by mid-twentieth century (mostly women) writers. Each one in the collection of over 100 books is intelligent, thought-provoking and beautifully written, and most are perfect presents or a good choice for reading groups.

With their distinctive plain grey jackets and cream ‘labels’ for the title wording, all the books look the same from the outside. Inside, each is different, with the end papers chosen especially to match the date and mood of the book.
