Monthly Public Supper at Camden Church August 6

Event has passed

“John Streeters” are lining up members to provide home made specialties for yet another public supper at the John Street United Methodist Church, Saturday, August 6 at 5:30 pm.  Diners are welcome to come to 98 John Street in Camden to enjoy a hearty meal and wonderful conversation at the family-style tables.

The church offers a single setting, so diners begin arriving early to be sure they will be able to get a seat.  Ticket sales are closed once the hall is filled.  The meal is appealing to all ages, as we learned last month with a parent mentioned that he had not remembered about the supper, but his daughter had read about it in the paper and urged the family to attend.

As they arrive, folks are encouraged to select a slice of pie on their way to their table, and more than a few slices are consumed immediately – rhubarb, lemon, apple, pumpkin, blueberry, strawberry and chocolate, to name a few.

All other food items are brought to the tables by servers: hot casseroles, chilled salads and warm rolls along with freshly baked beans, and refills are generally available.

Diners get a great meal before moving along to other Saturday evening activities, and all for the price of $8 adults, $4 children under 13.
