Monthly Art Opening & Wine Tasting at the Belfast Co-op

Event has passed

On Friday, August 28 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Belfast Co-op Café, the Co-op is hosting a free wine tasting of highlighted seasonal wines and the opening for "An Illustrator's Art," an exhibit of delicately painted and detailed watercolors into enchanted places by Brooks artist Kim Jacobs.  Her exhibit will be on display in the Café through late September.

Jack Scully of Easterly Wines will host this month's wine tasting with a focus on seasonal wines, along with Jaap Helder from the Co-op's wine department.  Featured wines will be 10% off during the tasting; participants must be at least 21 years of age to attend. In celebration of the publication of the 27th edition of her Cobblestone Way Calendar and the October publication of her first children's book, Kim will be presenting original artwork from both, as well as examples of her illustration process from sketch to printed piece.  She will be present to discuss her artwork and sign copies of her 2016 calendar during the opening, which will be available for purchase.

For more than thirty years, Kim Jacob’s art has adorned a great variety of gift, toy, household and stationery products, been published as prints and in books she has written and illustrated, crafted into three dimensional decoupage images, needle-crafted, worn, and pieced into countless puzzles and enjoyed around the world.  She has drawn inspiration from such diverse sources as art, literature, dreams, fantasies and her own extensive travels, blending all together to portray unique places that exist nowhere and anywhere.  To learn more about her work, visit her website at:  http://kimjacobsart.com .
