The Study Hall would like to highlight members of  tutoring staff. Kathy Cook joined the tutoring team in the fall of 2017. She earned her M. Ed. in Elementary Education from UMass Boston.  Since that time, she has worked with children of all ages and learning styles to improve their reading, writing, and math skills.   She has extensive experience with elementary and middle school children with learning challenges, making accommodations and designing and implementing IEPs.

Kathy is a literacy specialist, trained in several reading programs including Orton-Gillingham, LiPS, and Project Read.   She stresses the importance of keeping the material interesting and actively engaging the student at all times.  Kathy thinks the keys to success in the academic world are having a firm foundation in the basics and the confidence in yourself that you can do more.  She is looking forward to helping students accomplish both those goals through tutoring while having fun too!

Kathy is currently accepting new students. For more information please contact The Study Hall at 236-3949.
