The Women of St. Margaret’s will host its bi-annual Community Knit-a-thon on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 8am-8pm at the St. Margaret’s Church library, 95 Court Street in Belfast, Maine. The fun event is open to all as a time for gathering to work on projects. Bring any type of handwork and come enjoy the company and the warmth of a cozy space. All fiber lovers are welcome, including crochet, spin, and knit artists. Participants are welcome to join for any or all of the day, and bring a project, or not! There will be a trunk sale as well as a “comfort food” potluck dinner at 6pm. Sponsorship forms and more information is available at www.knitthecommunity.org.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County, a local Habitat for Humanity, International affiliate dedicated to the belief that all people deserve decent, safe, and affordable housing on terms they can afford. HFHWC builds simple, energy-efficient homes for Waldo County’s eligible applicants with a spirit of hope and unity. Habitat Waldo County has built two homes in Waldo County, and is scheduled to begin construction on its third home in the Spring of 2015.
