Back in the early 70s Mother Earth News did a cover story entitled “Be Your Own Chimney Sweep” and I’m just guessing that this was about the time Ron Mazzeo started doing chimneys. 

When I first started cleaning chimneys over twenty years ago I visited Ron Mazzeo who very graciously gave me some pointers and allowed me to pick his brain a bit.

If memory serves me right, Ron was one of the original founders of the National Chimney Guild.

Over these years chimney companies have come and gone and only the really good ones have stood the test of time, and, as far as I know, Ron Mazzeo has been around longer than any others.

Maybe had Ron known over twenty years ago that I’d still be around he wouldn’t have been so forthcoming to me, but I’m very thankful he was.

Although he’ll never be as handsome as me :) he is the owner of the best dang stove shop in Maine.

We wish Mazzeo’s great luck with this ad campaign and are proud to call them our colleagues.
