John Street United Methodist Church to Host 16 Crafters November 12, 8 - 2

The Christian Outreach Everywhere team of the John Street United Methodist Church, 98 John Street, Camden, is sponsoring another of its popular Craft Show and Bake Sale events on Saturday, November 12, featuring talented people from around the state of Maine.  The doors open at 8 am and the sale ends at 2 pm.  As shoppers arrive, coffee will be available. At noontime folks may purchase a light lunch of either corn chowder or vegetable soup served with a homemade biscuit and a cookie.  Coffee and bottled water will also be available for sale.

Entering the craft hall and looking to the left, shoppers will see Connie Bailey of Penobscot with her exquisite jewelry, including her popular fired copper earrings and pendants.  Nancy Shibles will share space with Connie, displaying her photographic note cards.  Hand crafted seat belt cozies, casserole carriers and knit fingerless gloves are featured by Mary Sue Bishop of Camden.  Harold Crockett of Camden Specializes in wood carvings, walking sticks and canes and will also show some knit items and handiwork. Along the back wall Evelyn Holman of Rockland will return with her variety of hand-made items.  Unique lighted wine bottles and hand-painted wine glasses will be displayed by Paula Horton of Warren.  Kristen Tescher of Camden offers her Noble Gypsy Designs, including Knits, needle felting, beadwork and jewelry.  On her two tables, Jewell Galetta of Washington comes from Housedressing Décor with handmade signs on reclaimed mill wood.  Embroidered note cards are the specialty of Sally Anderson of Rockland.  Coming from Union is Ruth Leonard, purveyor of her handmade softgoods: handbags, holders and aprons.  Mary Jane Gauteson, also from Union will display the lovely and serviceable handbags produced by Coastal Opportunities participants.  Organizer of the sale, Linda Storey of Morrill has a wide variety of products to show, including: felting, soaps, sachets and quilting.  Karen Gilman of Rockland will display her photography on one table, and hats, mittens and scarves on another.  Appleton Ridge’s Ruth Cassaday’s specialties are quilts and hooked rugs.  From Camden, Florence Householder will offer a variety of her crafts, featuring attractive knit items.

The bake sale will offer a variety of items made by the skilled bakers of the church, with several pies, including apple, pumpkin, lemon, chocolate and others.  The yeast rolls always sell out fast, but there are also delicious, cookies of many types, and dessert breads along with other sweet treats.
