John Street United Methodist Church in Camden to Celebrate Palm Sunday
Event has passed
April 13 marks Palm Sunday for 2014, and the John Street United Methodist Church, 98 John Street, Camden, is preparing a special service to commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. Starting at 10 am, the public is invited to our welcome gathering with coffee and light snacks. The congregation will then enter the sanctuary, bearing palms, for 10:30 worship service.
All will be challenged to focus on the significance of the crucifixion of Christ: “Why the cross?” “Necessary or unnecessary?” Readers will present points of view about the brutal end to Jesus’ life on earth, entitled, “The Path of Quality.”
The public is welcome to attend the service, and following worship, to join the congregation in light soup luncheon followed by a dramatization of an encounter between Mary and Martha following the crucifixion.
The church is fully handicap accessible.
