Italian Cooking and Conversation: Pastas, Sauces and Sweets!
This six-week Italian Cooking and Conversation class on Tuesdays, 5-7 p.m. starts March 14th. Participants will make one pasta and one dessert each evening and will enjoy a meal based on their cooking.
Pastas will range from the lush rich pastas of the northern region to the more sophisticated yet rustic pastas of central Italy to the vibrant, flavorful pastas of The South. Included among the various pastas are corzetti con erette e capesante (corzetti with chard and scallops), pasta caramelle ripiena di ricotta alle erbe stile Emilia-Romangna (ricotta stuffed, candy-shaped pasta with a sauce traditional typical of the Emilia Romangna region), trofie con salsa al basilica e fagiolini (pasta with basil and beans) and fresh orecchiette al tonno (ear-shaped pasta with tuna). Desserts will include torta al limone, rollata farcito (pastry roll), torta glassata all’arancia (orange-glaze cake), albicocche al forno, cannoli, and torta al mandarino (mandarin cake).
NOTE: Due to the weather, this class will not start until March 21st. There is still time to register!
