Here’s How YOU Can Help Elect Democrats
The Knox County Democrats are offering the Great Campaign Season Travel Raffle.
Only 1000 tickets will be sold for a chance to win one of two cool prizes.
First Prize is a $4000 voucher from a travel agency to be used for the dream trip of your choice. For perspective, this voucher would pay the cost of an off-season four-day, three-night trip for four to Disney World, including round-trip air fare and rides and lodging within the park. Or, it would pay for air fare and touring for two with B & B accommodations in Ireland for a week. Or, a week for two at a Mexican resort or toward whatever your heart desires.
The second prize is a closer-to-home view of Penobscot Bay from a 45-minute glider ride with Maine Senate candidate Dave Miramant. Dave owns Spirit Soaring Glider Rides, which operates out of Knox County Regional Airport in Owls Head. Imagine seeing the islands and the distant mountains as you soar quietly above the bay.
Tickets are $20 each, sold to anyone 18 years or older. Proceeds will be used to support Knox County Democratic Headquarters and activities in support of all our Democratic candidates. State law requires that only Committee members may sell tickets. Very often a member with tickets will be available in the Headquarters in the Harbor Plaza. If you plan to come to the HQ to purchase tickets, please call ahead (594-3901) to ask when a member will be available. Or, call Jean Morrison at 236-7023.
Think what great hostess or thank you gifts these are, especially since the proceeds support such an important effort. Please stop in at Headquarters and become part of the process by buying tickets for yourself or friends. Check out the Tag Sale, too, and the candidate literature, signs etc. and consider signing up to volunteer for an activity of your choice.
