Friday, October 24, is the Belfast Co-op's monthly 'Love LOCAL Day', celebrating Maine's bounty. The highlighted Maine vendor is Peak Organic Brewing Company, based in Portland, Maine. Peak is the first Non-GMO Project verified brewer in the country, and October is Non-GMO Month.

The Love LOCAL Day lunch special highlights local ingredients:  Beer braised BBQ pulled pork, made with Goose River Farm (Swanville) pork loin, braised in Peak Organic Hop Noir ale, on a Co-op made beer roll made with Peak Organic IPA, and roasted Yukon Gold potatoes from Common Sense Farm (Unity); $8.99

ALL Maine products will be discounted 10% all day, and we're open until 9pm on 10/24 for our Final Friday Art Opening & Peak Organic Beer Tasting, taking place in our Cafe from 7-9pm, so you have an extra hour to take advantage of these great savings!

Over the past year, Co-op customers purchased over $1,934,850 in local (Maine-grown, raised, harvested and produced) products.  The Co-op stocks over 2,200 Maine-made products.

The community-owned Belfast Co-op, open 7:30am-8pm daily, is located at 123 High Street in downtown Belfast.  All are welcome!  For further information, visit belfast.coop or call (207) 338-2532.
