"Food For Thought" film screening & discussion

Event has passed

This Tuesday, November 17, at 7pm at The Colonial Theater in downtown Belfast, there will be a screening of the 20-minute documentary film, Food for Thought, Food for Life, about our current food system. It is fast-paced and chock-full of information, ideas and stories of change. Statistical infographics and footage are intercut with an all-star cast of interviews, including chef Dan Barber, poet & farmer Wendell Berry, and chef Michel Nischan.

Several local Maine farm and food advocates also make appearances in the film, including farmer Eliot Coleman, farmer & musician Bennett Konesni, and seed breeder John Navazio.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion on the connections between soil and health with Eliot Coleman of Four Season Farm, Bennett Konesni of Duckback Farm, Katy Green of MOFGA, and Elliott Powell of Sustainable Harvest International.

$5 suggested donation at the door. The Colonial Theatre is located at 163 High Street in downtown Belfast. This event is sponsored by Maine Farmland Trust, Sustainable Harvest International, and the Belfast Co-op.
