A women’s-only evening of no stupid questions

Cellardoor Winery, Lincolnville
Thursday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m.

ReVision Energy and Evergreen Home Performance invite women to bring their questions about heating systems, fuel choices, energy efficiency, solar power, and more to Cellardoor Winery on June 11, 6:30 pm. The energizing discussion, led for woman, by women, will empower participants to understand how the systems in their homes work, and how they can work better for improved efficiency.

“Women care just as much about how their homes work as men do,” says Kathleen Meil, Evergreen’s Marketing & Customer Relations Manager. “Women have great questions that don’t always get asked, and great insights that don’t always get listened to. This night is about changing that.”

There will be brief presentations with ample time for conversation and questions, along with light refreshments and Cellardoor wine. This comfortable, informal evening is part of a growing movement that includes Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program and Ladies’ Nights at hardware stores across the country.

“Balancing home energy decisions can be a real challenge,” says Jennifer Albee, Revision’s Customer Relations Manager. “Understanding the factors that go into those decisions – from mechanical systems and fuel choices, to options for efficiency and renewables – is key to making them confidently.”

Certified Building Analyst Jessie Davis will start the program with home energy basics, including heating systems, hot water generation, and fuel choices. Once participants understand how they power their homes, the group will explore ways to manage home energy expenses with efficiency and renewable energy. The presenters are well qualified: Evergreen Home Performance is a statewide leader on the efficiency side, providing energy audits and contracting like insulation and air sealing, and ReVision Energy is the most experienced renewable energy company in the northern New England, offering custom-engineered solar hot water and solar electricity for homes, businesses, schools, and non-profits.
