Concert James Montgomery and the Nor’Easters

Event has passed

All-star blues line up for Labor Day/ Windjammer Weekend! When blues legend James Montgomery plays the harmonica, he "brings it on home". Whether it's recording with Kid Rock, sitting in with Gregg Allman, or fronting his hot band of thirty years, Montgomery plays with authority. While growing up in Detroit he learned first-hand from the masters - James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, and Jr. Wells at the legendary "Chessmate." Over the years, he's carried on the tradition and continues to be a vital presence in Blues as one of the most dynamic performers on the scene. In his fifty year career James Montgomery has performed with everyone from the Allman Brothers and Rolling Stones to BB King and Bonnie Raitt and was a member of the Johnny Winter Band. He is currently supporting his new record From Detroit to the Delta. On Sunday September 4 he will be performing at the Camden Opera
House with old friends Bruce Marshall and the Nor'Easters as his supporting band.  The Nor'Easters have supported James many times over the years and they are very excited to bring this line up for the first time to the Opera House.
The Nor'Easters have some notoriety of their own as Bruce Marshall was a member of the Toy Caldwell Band (Marshall Tucker) and bassist Al Hospers was with Blood Sweat and Tears as well as Buddy Rich. Guitarist Chuck Farrell performed with members of Starship, Chris Issac Band and Boston.
Opening the show will be acoustic dynamo Charlie Farren. Folks may remember Charlie as the leader of the Joe Perry Project and Fahrenheit. Charlie always brings a high energy performance you won't forget. He has recently been the opening act for Lynard Skynard, Fabulous Thunderbirds and Lou Graham of Foreigner.
