Christmas Concert Following Public Supper December 5 at John Street United Methodist Church in Camden

Event has passed

The monthly public suppers at the John Street United Methodist Church have a long tradition, and that tradition includes a Christmas Concert in the Sanctuary following the December supper.  This year both traditions will continue, starting with the supper at 5:30 pm, December 5, in the fellowship hall of the church at 98 John Street, Camden.   People of all ages are welcome to come for supper and stay for the music, or to attend only the meal or only the concert.

The public is invited to enjoy the home-baked beans and casseroles, with sides of rolls and a wide selection of salads, all topped off with slices of home-baked pies.  Servers bring food selections to the tables for a family-style meal shared with friends and strangers alike.  The cost of the supper is $8 for adults, $5 for children under age 12.  The social aspect combined with the fine eating makes the supper a popular destination.

At 6:15 on Saturday, December 5, Organist and Choir Director Dorothy Koski will offer a prelude of music in the church sanctuary.  As people arrive, they may view some of the nativity scenes on display before taking their seats. At 6:30, the full concert will begin, featuring church musicians with solos and chamber music.

The church invites the public to this free event as a gift to the community.  All who attend the supper as well as those who come only for the music may attend without charge. All free will donations will benefit the Camden Area Christian Food Pantry.
