The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Holiday Dinner at the Samoset Resort on Tuesday, December 4.  Camden National Bank is once again generously stepping up as the Lead Sponsor.

“We are especially looking forward to the evening as it will be the first opportunity for many of our members to meet Staci Coomer, our new Executive Director,” said Jula Sampson, Board member and Chair of the event.

The evening will begin at 5:00 pm with a cocktail reception followed by a plated dinner at 6:30, and it is anticipated that 250 members will gather for this annual festive event.  With a brief annual meeting at 7:30, the crowd will then recognize members of the Board who have completed their terms; welcome new Board Chair, June Parent of Camden National Bank; and finally honor and celebrate the many hours of dedicated service provided by the chamber office volunteers who help with mailings, answer phones, and staff the Visitor Centers.

The evening will end with a special award which is given annually to the “Volunteer of the Year.”  Outgoing Board Chair, Frank Isganitis, noted that, “For many area visitors, residents, and businesses, the volunteers in our Visitor Centers in Camden and Rockland are truly the face of the Chamber. 

“We are able to serve the thousands of calls and visits we receive each year because these fabulous people are so generous with their time and their knowledge of the area.  On a daily basis, they help visitors find places to stay, places to eat, and things to do.  They help keep our membership informed, and they reach out into the community to ensure that we all know the many wonderful things that are going on in the Midcoast.”
