Camden Conference October Discussion Group: “Russia’s People” tonight!

Event has passed

The Camden Conference free Community Events Discussion Series returns this year with a four-part monthly series that will offer participants an opportunity to investigate Russia’s People, Politics, Economy and Neighbors -- all in preparation for the 2015 Camden Conference, Russia Resurgent.

The facilitated discussions will begin with October’s topic, “Russia’s People”, at the Belfast Free Library on Wednesday, October 1 at 6:30 PM, to be followed at the Rockland Public Library on Thursday, October 2 at 6:00 PM, and at the Camden Public Library on Tuesday, October 7 at 7:00 PM.

Participants will be expected to have read several assigned short articles in preparation for their active engagement in the discussions. Readings are identified on the Camden Conference web site and accessible through the libraries’ web sites. The readings for October’s topic, Russia’s People, include Wikipedia’s brief “History of Russia;” an article from The Moscow Times, “How Self-Sacrifice Has Shaped the Russian Soul;” “The Enigmatic Russian Soul,” in The American Thinker; and, “11 Things Everyone Should Know About Russian Demographics,” from Forbes. A facilitator from the Conference will moderate the discussions that will be free of charge.
