Artist David Vickery to speak at Bartlett Woods Retirement Community. Thursday, May 2, from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.

As a part of the ongoing Bartlett Woods invitational art exhibit, we are delighted to welcome realist painter David Vickery to speak at our second "artist talk," held in the new dining room of our recently completed expansion. This informative and creative lecture is open to the public and we welcome all art enthusiasts to join us.

David is a studio painter whose work is about the merger of nature and culture; responding to everyday scenes with an eye for the imperfect, quirky, and metaphoric in an attempt to make sense of our place in the world and the adaptations we've made in order to live here. He will be talking about his beginnings as an artist, as well as his influences and technical approach to painting.

David studied art history and painting at College of the Atlantic, where he received a B.A. in Human Ecology in 1989. He has been a full-time painter working out of his Cushing studio since 1992. www.dvickery.com.
