Afternoon Ski and Snowshoe Tour at Aldermere Farm

Event has passed

On Saturday, Feb. 13 at 1:00 p.m., Maine Coast Heritage Trust will host a Ski and Snowshoe Tour at Aldermere Farm in Rockport. Participants will be guided along groomed trails that run through the large open pastures and woods around the farm.

Previous experience on skis is recommended. Participants should bring their own gear and dress warmly. Everyone will meet at the main barn at 20 Russell Ave. at 1:00 p.m. and start the trail together at 1:10 p.m. Parking is on the roadside along Russell Avenue.

The tour is free to the public, but donations are appreciated, and reservations are required due to limited space. MCHT is also looking for volunteers to be guides or to bring baked goods to share, so please call the farm if interested in helping.

For those who cannot make the guided tour, Aldermere Farm's trails are open to the general public during daylight hours. There are two access points to the ski trails: (1) across the road from the Aldermere Farm sign near 20 Russell Ave.; (2) down the side road off Russell Avenue, across from Calderwood Lane (look for the open gate through the cattle pen).

For more information on the Ski and Snowshoe Tour, or to reserve space or volunteer to help, call Aldermere Farm at 236-2739, or email jalbury@mcht.org. The tour coincides with the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend, a project of the Maine Outdoor Coalition, which is a network of partners dedicated to increasing connections to the outdoors for all people in Maine by identifying, promoting, and amplifying opportunities for statewide action and impact.
